ANTIQUE WOODEN KORO CUP FROM TARABA

This Koro statue bears the ethnic name of Gbene. It was used by the Koro (northern Nigeria) by the Jaba community as part of ceremonial sacrifices. Palm wine and beer were poured into it.

The treatment of the body is reminiscent of Mumuye art and related ethnic groups.
