ANTIQUE WURKUN STATUE FROM TARABA

The Wurkun people are a vibrant and resilient ethnic group in Nigeria, known for their warm hospitality and rich cultural heritage. They inhabit the Taraba and Gombe State, where they have thrived for centuries. Their language, Wurkun, is a member of the both Taraba and Gombe languages family, and their culture is rooted in ancestral lineage and a deep connection with nature.
Their expertise in farming has earned them the nickname "Great Farmers" leading to the yearly cultural festival celebration, known as "PHEBE" (Wurkun Cultural Festival), to showcase their Cultural heritage. The Wurkun are also renowned for their exquisite crafts, including pottery, woodcarvings, among others.
