IBIBIO NATION CULTURE AND HISTORY BY PROF. EKONG .E. EKONG
The opening section reviews the centuries long journeys of the Ibibio people from Usak Edet in the Cameron valleys until their eventual dispersal to form her present clan settlements. It also, details the migratory relationships of the bibio with the Aro and the Efik neigbours. Relevant 'immediate past events® of the last century that shaped the Ibibio Nation were also expansively reviewed.
In the later section, the pillars that bind the socio-cultural realities of the Ibibio people as a distinctly identifiable ethnic group are dissected. These are encased in venerated proverbial expressions, ancestor worship, totems and taboos, as well as its evidently polytheistic mode of worship, in addition to other cultural realities.
